SUMMARY of JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
Maintain the global services application environments used to support NCR Worldwide Customer Service Division. The individual will participate as the technical lead/mentor on a team of 9-10 members, which will be responsible for administering the applications and databases in the development/test/production environments. The job requires a highly motivated individual with excellent analysis and problem solving skills. The interested individual must be willing to share in a weekly support rotation where 24x7 availability is a necessity. The individual must have a strong desire to learn new skills and constantly evolve existing ones. The individual will be expect to interact with the developers and technical departments to promote information sharing, coordinate enterprise information architecture and provide data management operations to ensure the security, quality, performance, and accessibility of the databases and directory structures.
Functional Responsibilities and Skills Required:
o Responsible for NCR\'s Customer Services SQL-SERVER DBA deployment and support for the globe.
o Manage a total of 100+ SQL-SERVER instances, all multivolume databases.
o Perform technical analysis and troubleshooting on complex database problems.
o Identifying root cause close-loop activities for technical problems.
o Provide proactive monitoring and alert notification for system outages.
o Incorporate standard support tools for tracking problems, reporting, capacity performance and SLA metrics.
o Establishes all database instances (i.e., testing, production, training, demo) to support the various phases of the implementation.
o Design and implementation of several online/offline backup/recovery procedures mitigate database downtime.
